Learn how to camp and survive in cold winter conditions. Experience and learn how to construct an igloo and snow hut, how to setup a hot-tent and woodstove, use of arctic expedition tents, portable sleds, how to select and use snowshoes, plus winter fire and shelter building. The course involves an evening seminar at the Bancroft Campus of Loyalist College followed by a weekend overnight experience at Marble Lake Lodge in Cloyne, Ontario. Winter outfitting is available, or students can supply their own gear. Students are responsible for their own meals and transportation. Optional survival book at a cost of $30 per copy and survival manual at $15 per copy will be available for sale.
